The "ENEMY" from within...

Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man. Luke 21:36

The nation which has gone astray, which worships "idols", will end up in darkness and brought to slavery by those "heathen" people they took in so carelessly and without restraint.

Now the leaders begin to tremble for those same people, because they have forsaken the Lord, God and have turned their backs on the Word of God.

They may think that they have strength, but their hair has been cut off while they were asleep, as with Simpson. The blessing of God will be removed and the nation will fall into the hands of their enemies.

The LORD hath made all things for Himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil. Proverbs 16:4.

The day is nearly over, the sun lost its shine
the sky darkens as the storm draws nigh
while man is searching for wisdom
thinking without God they can get by

Putting themselves on a pedestal
ruling the land with a carnal mind
Messing up here and everywhere
carrying on as if they're blind

We don't need God for "freedom"
we'll do this and that, they say
We'll mind our own business
and have freedom our own way

Their foolishness led into bondage
as mankind miserably failed God
And according to His Holy Word
it'll get worse than in the days of Lot

Mankind may use his own free will
with the consequences of the same
One may choose hell instead of heaven
for this nobody else is to blame

Soon more "towers" will tumble
causing anguish and great despair
When the measure of the ungodly is full
the Saints will meet Jesus in the air

AN AWESOME SCRIPTURE!

A word for today and any other day!

For Thou, LORD, art high above all the earth: Thou art exalted far above all gods.
Ye that love the LORD, hate evil: He preserveth the souls of His saints; He delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked.
Light is sown for the righteous, and gladness for the upright in heart.
Rejoice in the LORD, ye righteous; and give thanks at the remembrance of His holiness.
Psalm 97:9-12

Glory to God. Praise His name for ever.

Wonderful words of encouragement. Hard TRUTH to hang onto, to live by, to walk in, to spread around...

What is in a name?

Someone asked me the question: "Is your pen name "Ferryman" because you are a "vessel" of the LORD?"

My reply may interest you to know how much God is involved in the lives of His children, far before we recognize it.

Known unto God are all His works from the beginning of the world. Acts 15:18

To answer the question, Ferryman is the true translation of my married last name. And indeed God made this name come true, since we are servants bringing people across the waters of life to Life eternal through Christ.
We have the equipment, God's word and the Infilling of the Holy Spirit (spiritual boat) to do so. Praise God.

The following may be of topic here, but several years ago I became aware of my names' meaning, and the significance of it.
My maiden name, which (translated) means "manager of a storage house/barn".

To top this off, when I was a young girl of about nine or ten years old, I got a very vivid dream that I was Joseph, betrayed by his brothers, rejected, thrown in the pit and sold. As the story goes, I went through all the obstacles and ended up in Pharaoh's palace... and managed the store houses in Eqypt. You know the rest of the story.
When I told my family about this, I was scorned by my siblings and called for many years "Joseph the dreamer".
This dream/vision has come into fulfillment and is being fulfilled. Glory to God!

Then there are my given names, with astonishing meanings of God's calling upon my life and my involvement in ministry.

The amazing thing is that God had set these names already in the Book of life before I was born and even before I became a Christian.

He directed my paths before the foundation of the earth.
This all makes me jump for joy and gladness.
O, how I adore my Lord and Father, the Almighty God.
Praise His name for ever and ever. AMEN!!

Are we serving an AWESOME God or not??

YES, we do!

For He spake, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast. Psalm 33:9

Connected in His everlasting love,

ferryman.... mover of man

What is man!

What is man, that Thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that Thou visitest him? Psalm 8:4

LORD, what is man, that thou takest knowledge of him! or the son of man, that thou makest account of him! Psalm 144:3

I look back at gone by years
when the Father took away my fears
He held my hand, kept me safe, dried my tears
through rough times and painful years.

Although I didn't always see things clear
I saw the narrow spiralling path near
Often my joy was mixed with tears
but God comforted me, He gave me peace

I see the ocean waters in clear blues
rolling pastures in colouring hues
the storms of life speeding by
and huge trees reaching for the sky

This all reflects the way of life
filled with struggle and strife
Perfection is every day's quest
we'll meet it halfways at its best

The horizon seems beyond my reach
I wish to fly above ocean's beach
spreading my wings to fly up high
could mean meeting JESUS in the sky

Awesome melodies capture my mind
now I can see, after I've been blind
I hear angels singing in wonderful harmony
I'll join in to praise God, who set me free

Verily every man at his best state is altogether vanity. Psalm 39:5b

But thou, O Lord, art a God full of compassion, and gracious, long suffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth. Psalm 86:15

God's Word... A Lamp...

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. Psalm 119:105

Passages in God's word are for guidance, teaching, edification, encouragement, warning, revelation etc.

That does not mean that one has to practise all that is written in the Bible.
In contrary, many scriptures show the conscequences of doing some of the things recorded in the Bible, and by not abiding by the moral rules of God's word.

Just read the story of Sampson and Jonah, and you will soon learn what NOT to do.
Read the story of Daniel and how he ended up in the lion's den. We are taught to abide in God and to expect the impossible, by the way Daniel reacted and by the result of putting faith in Him to shut the lions mouth.

Read the amazing/encouraging story of Esther how through her actions, with the help of her uncle Mordecai, the whole nation of Israel was saved from annihilation. This story teaches courage, determination and faith, for example.

We should follow the honorable and God pleasing actions, NOT the wicked, dishonorable and sinful behavior.

Walking in the footsteps of Christ Jesus gives us LIFE eternal, but doing the sinful acts, following satan, presents eternal death. Of both God's word teaches and instructs the reader.

I will bring the blind by the way that they knew not; I will lead them in paths that they have not known. Isaiah 42:16

Choose now whom you want to follow and serve!

Because of the Cross...

Shared by a medical doctor

A couple of days ago I was running (I use that term very loosely) on my treadmill, watching a DVD sermon by Louie Giglio... And I was BLOWN AWAY! I want to share what I learned... But I fear not being able to convey it as well as I want. I will share anyway.

He (Louie) was talking about how inconceivably BIG our God is... How He spoke the universe into being.... Then He went on to speak of how this universe creating God ALSO knitted our human bodies together with amazing detail and wonder. At this point I am LOVING it (fascinating from a medical standpoint, you know.)... And I was remembering how I was constantly amazed during medical school as I learned more and more about God's handiwork. I remember so many times thinking.. 'How can ANYONE deny that a Creator did all of this???'

Louie went on to talk about how we can trust that the God who created all this, also has the power to hold it all together when things seem to be falling apart..how our loving Creator is also our sustainer.

And then I lost my breath. And it wasn't because I was running my treadmill, either!!! It was because he started talking about laminin. I knew about laminin. Here is how Wikipedia describes them: 'Laminins are a family of proteins that are an integral part of the structural scaffolding of basement membranes in almost every animal tissue.' You see... Laminins are what hold us together.. LITERALLY. They are cell adhesion molecules. They are what holds one cell of our bodies to the next cell. Without them, we would literally fall apart. And I knew all this already. But what I didn't know is what they LOOKED LIKE.

But now I do. And I have thought about it a thousand times since (already).. Here is what the structure of laminin looks like... AND THIS IS NOT a 'Christian portrayal' of it... If you look up laminin in any scientific/medical piece of literature, this is what you will see...

Now tell me that our God is not the coolest!!! Amazing. The glue that holds us together..... ALL of us.... Is in the shape of the cross. Immediately Colossians 1:15-17 comes to mind.

He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by Him all things were created; things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by Him and for Him. He is before all things, and in Him all things HOLD TOGETHER.(Colossians 1:15-17)

Call me crazy. I just think that is very, very, very cool. Thousands of years before the world knew anything about laminin, Paul penned those words. And now we see that from a very LITERAL standpoint, we are held together... One cell to another... By the cross. You would never in a quadrillion years convince me that is anything Other than the mark of a Creator who knew EXACTLY what laminin 'glue' would look like long before Adam breathed his first breath!!

What an amazing God!

If you would like to watch the actual presentation by Louie Giglio, here is the video on youtube:

May you be held together because of the CROSS of Jesus. John 3:16

AMEN!
