Live to please God!

Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. 1 John 2:15,16

This scripture refers to loving the things of this world with a PASSION; something you MUST have; that which your heart is after and which you cannot live without. It does not mean something you like or prefer. We must be able to give up anything for God. We need to sell out completely to the Lord.

The Lord has asked me several times during my walk with Him if I would give up my children, my house, my possessions, my husband ... at last my ALL. I have hesitated at times, and checked if God really meant what He did require from me. I may just have heard it wrong! I waited... I thought... I cried. I said Lord: "You don't mean that, do You?" The Lord responded: "Yes, my child, I mean it." He gave me the choice and it scared me to make the decision, thinking I would lose ALL at some time.

I took the risk, expecting to be left empty handed, and said: "Yes, Lord, here it is." These were very emotional and spiritual milestones in my life, and I learned through going into the deep waters of total immersion in Him, Who He really was and is.

Although the Lord required my ALL, He never took it, instead He added. Oh, how wonderful is My Lord and King. Is our God and Father for real or what?
HE SURE IS REAL AND ABLE TO SEE US THROUGH!

Don't rebel against the intentions of the Lord. Don't fight the trials, which life brings. Take them as a challenge, allow the Lord to mold you into His image. He wants you to come through victoriously. Many take trials as bothersome, but they miss an opportunity to see God at work in their lives. Others believe that impossibilities are limiting God, while they forget that the Lord may be preparing them for something very special.

Beloved, take the word of GOD VERY SERIOUS, we cannot shuffle it under the carpet and do our own thing. God's word will judge your actions... the way you talk, the way you dress, the flirting of your eyes, your lust, your secret life... you know all about it... and so does our heavenly Father. There are things in your life you need/must clean up, because they are not acceptable in God's eyes and He will not allow this to pass through unnoticeable.

Worldliness can be easily noticed at places among friends. I am greatly moved by the Holy Spirit as I write this message to you. My heart cries for what gets around and is accepted as called being "Christian".

Let me tell you this... it is known that God keeps His promises, but do not forget that there is more written in God's word than only His promises. The Father will also keep us responsible to abide to the rest of the Scripture. He will reinforce His demand for HOLY living, if you call yourself a Child of God. This may find you on the "path" of dicipline for your own good, which may be far from pleasant.

Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.
Hebrew 12:11

Abiding in God takes more than being saved, it involves commitment to God's word and acting upon it.

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;
Psalm 46:1,2

May our Father confirm His own word to your heart, I pray.

Be blessed in the name of the Lord.

Joy and Happiness

Some may think that being/becoming a Christian takes the fun out of life and presents restrictions. I can testify that this is far from true. Once you have entered in a life with Christ you see life from a different perspective, and what you saw before as being "just fun" will be seen as God sees it.

Yes, the Christian walk is a radical change from the old life without God. It takes time for the total change to take place, but a baby does not grow up instantly either.

The Father will hold your hand and  He allows you to take one step at the time. This alone thrills my soul. God has so much patience with us and His Love is everlasting.
The "fun" we thought we had in the past will be exchanged with tremendous JOY AND HAPPINESS, through  the knowledge that one has been saved by His Grace.

Jesus Christ took our burdens, our sins and quilt and nailed them to the cross. He cleanses from ALL unrighteousness and will walk with us very close, if we dedicate our all to Him.

God will become a FATHER AND FRIEND who supports and encourages His followers through difficult times, sorrow, pain and failures.
He will NOT discard us, as long as we mean business with Him.

Jesus met me some 50 years ago and His touch upon my life throughout those years, has been lasting. Our family has experienced unspeakable happenings, some similar to the remarkable stories of the Old Testament.

Following Christ is far from  being a burden, it rather presents FREEDOM and JOY UNSPEAKABLE.

Our lives have been far from easy and we are confronted with difficulties at times, just as anyone else.
BUT, we have a STAFF to lean upon, we have HOPE in Christ, according to His promises.

I encourage you to hang on and to continue your walk with God, which gives VICTORY and EVERLASTING LIFE.

It takes full SURRENDER, not partly surrender, on our part to receive FULL support from the Father. Don't forget that Jesus Christ gave HIS ALL in full surrender, even unto death, for you and me so we will have Life Eternal.

There may be difficulties and "enemies" to overcome but it is WORTH it ALL. God's promises are with us as long as we are with Him.

The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and His ears are open unto their cry.
The face of the LORD is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth. The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles. The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all. Psalm 34:15-19

The Mighty Hand of God

 God is Your Life Saver

And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you.
Luke 17:6

So... here it is... simple enough... you don't need to be strong or tall, a man or a woman, educated or not, high up the ladder or just trying to climb up... FAITH is all it takes... and that faith is not even your own, but given to whomever ask the Father.

What else can we add? Absolutely NOTHING. It is by His power, for His glory and the furtherance of His Kingdom.

Let us walk together in Faith, encouraging each other and pray for one another, and the Holy Spirit will do the rest.I know it, because I have seen and experience it myself. Go with God and He will go with you.

Have you realized what happened to the chariots of the warriors of Pharaoh when they pursued the Israelites who wandered the dessert and were crossing the divided waters of the Red Sea? The Lord came down Himself and looked down upon the army of the Egyptians, through the pillar of fire and cloud. He saw that the enemy was advancing. Exodus Chapter 14.

By now the Egyptian army was in the midst of the sea.

The Word of God continues to say that the Lord took off the wheels of the chariots to make their travelling difficult. NO, NOT the angel of the Lord... but GOD HIMSELF did undo these wheels. Just imagine the involvement God will have with mankind, with YOU.

How easily can one overlook the work of the hand of God without noticing the detail and its effect?

We can read in Joshua Chapter 6 that the Lord instructed Joshua how to take the city of Jericho and to save the life of Rahab, the harlot. The seventh day the people of Israel walked seven times around the city and when the priests blew the trumpets the people started to shout, as commanded, Shouts of victory of course. The city was doomed by the Lord to destruction, so the walls came tumbling down. Miracle above miracle, for no weapon was used.

Beloved, the story does not stop here. Besides the miracle of these tumbling walls there was another miracle, perhaps even more difficult for us to imagine. Rahab's red cord was hanging out of her window and while everything was flat around her, her house was still standing.

This is precision work that ONLY God can do. Some folks will tell you that the vibration of the trumpets and the shouting brought these walls down. They forget that Rahab's house was also on that same wall, and had not come down. It was God working through faith and obedience of His people.

To let these walls come down is one thing, but to leave Rahab's house standing in the middle of the rubble, is another. It is also quite noticable that the Lord was more interested in Rahab's faith than in here "questionable" reputation.

AHA! Did you get the hint? Sins can be forgiven, but without faith even God cannot do a thing.

Also without faith it is impossible to please the Lord, according to
Hebrews 11:6. Rahab's actions showed faith in the God of Israel. It was through her faith that God kept her house standing. Praise His wonderful name.

Did you know that Jesus is from the lineage of Rahab? You may wonder why the Father could not have found a more "respectable" woman. Perhaps a more respectable woman may not have had the FAITH that Rahab, the harlot did possess.

Don't worry, God does not approve of such a lifestyle and neither did Rahab continue in such. God is able to use those that are of the lowest rank also to show His love to the most undesirable of society. In the mean time He provides the possibility for change.

Are we serving this same God? Has He changed? Please, go back and meditate upon the scriptures.

Psalm 116:5 ... Gracious is the Lord, and righteous, yea, our God is merciful.

Isaiah 40:5 ... And the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.

Do you still think that God is not close enough or not able to touch your life, to rescue you, to deliver you, to restore you, to help you through difficult situations? REALLY? You think you can learn something from the Old testament stories?

Beloved friend, please bury your "unbelief" and let FAITH ARISE. God is the SAME yesterday, today and forever.

HE CAN BE TRUSTED. AMEN!

PRAISE HIS AWESOME NAME!

In Christ,

Minister Dr. Trudy Veerman
