The Rock of Salvation

"But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon. For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ." 1 Cor 3:10b,11

The STONE which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes? Matthew 21:42

To me, Jesus Christ is: The precious STONE, a sure FOUNDATION, the ROCK of ages, cleft for me let me hide myself in Thee. AMEN!

"Behold, I lay in Zion a STONE for a foundation, A tried STONE, a precious Cornerstone, a sure Foundation; Whoever believes will not act hastily." Isaiah 28:16

"O come, let us sing unto the LORD: let us make a joyful noise to the ROCK of our salvation." Psalm 95:1

Rock of Ages, cleft for me,
Let me hide myself in Thee;
Let the water and the blood,
From Thy wounded side which flowed,
Be of sin the double cure,
Save from wrath and make me pure.

Not the labor of my hands
Can fulfill Thy law’s demands;
Could my zeal no respite know,
Could my tears forever flow,
All for sin could not atone;
Thou must save, and Thou alone.

Nothing in my hand I bring,
Simply to Thy cross I cling;
Naked, come to Thee for dress;
Helpless, look to Thee for grace;
Foul, I to the fountain fly;
Wash me, Savior, or I die.

While I draw this fleeting breath,
When my eyes shall close in death,
When I rise to worlds unknown,
And behold Thee on Thy throne,
Rock of Ages, cleft for me,
Let me hide myself in Thee.

"He shall cry unto me, Thou art my father, my God, and the Rock of my salvation." Psalm 89:26

"From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the ROCK that is higher than I."
Psalm 61:2

"The LORD liveth; and blessed be my ROCK; and exalted be the God of the ROCK of my salvation." 2 Samuel 22:47

No one else but Jesus Christ is the ROCK OF SALVATION, the Corner STONE. In Him we have found a hiding place: the ESCAPE from the wrath of God.

What a great blessing has been bestowed upon us to have a SOLID FOUNDATION to build upon in this world of insecurity, misfortune, and misery.

Thank You, Lord.

Upon this ROCK I have build my HOPE!

Hold onto this ROCK!

In the strenght of Christ,

*The Holy Alphabet*

THY WORD IS TRUTH! John 17:17

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom. Colossians 3:16

Although things are not perfect
Because of trial or pain
Continue in thanksgiving
Do not begin to blame
Even when the times are hard
Fierce winds are bound to blow
God is forever able
Hold on to what you know
Imagine life without His love
Joy would cease to be
Keep thanking Him for all the things
Love imparts to thee
Move out of "Camp Complaining"
No weapon that is known
On earth can yield the power
Praise can do alone
Quit looking at the future
Redeem the time at hand
Start every day with worship
To "thank" is a command
Until we see Him coming
Victorious in the sky
We'll run the race with gratitude
X alting God most high
Yes, there'll be good times and yes some will be bad, but...
Zion waits in glory... where none are ever sad!

Wonderful Words of Truth

Brother Phil wrote on the OCC forum: "Our faith, our future and very lives, need to be put in the Lord hands." I say AMEN and AMEN to this. Doing this is the SECRET to Victory in our lives, allowing God to take over.

As in the case of Elisha,(2 Kings 6:15-17) God will show us things (we may need to do, not to do, make us understand etc) which we would not see with our natural understanding, or our physical eyes, as we walk in faith, trusting the Father.

My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;
Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall... be given him.
James 1:2-5

Difficult times in our lives will give us an opportunity to get closer to the Lord, to know Him more and to see Him at work, as we put our faith in Him. Therefore many of the Old Testament stories are so important to read, study and meditate upon them. Such stories have greatly impressed my faith...that I would say... SEE GOD CAN DO IT, and HE WILL DO IT AGAIN, for He is the same yesterday, today and for ever.

O man, this about puts my feet on dancing...
HALLELUJAH!

We have only seen the surface of what God can do through faith. Jesus Himself states that we can move mountains if we only had faith as small as a mustard seed. So, if there are MOUNTAINS in your life they can be dissolved!!

Why do Christians LOOK, and not SEE? For many look around for an answer, but don't see with their spiritual eyes of faith the truth of what God's word is teaching.

God knows who we are, our laying down and getting up, and since we are all different, He will treat us as such.

It is amazing how our Lord is so personal to each individual follower, in His support, giving direction, encouragement and teaching in the way we should walk.

All our difficulties and troubles can be overcome through the Holy Spirit. Of course this does not mean that we will be perfect while living on this globe. But we will go from VICTORY TO VICTORY. Amen!

Indeed ALL GLORY to the Father, who gives us strength, wisdom and insight, as needed.

1 John 5:4,5 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?

Faith is a very important key because it puts God's power into action on our behalf. Consider Daniel and the lions, Rahab's red rope, and David, when he killed Goliath.

These are just some of the examples on how faith is put into action. Having faith can be compared to that of a muscle. The more you exercise it and put it into action, the stronger it gets. Hence, the more effective you become in OVERCOMING.

Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Did you get that?

Through faith in the finished work of Christ, we will cross the seas of this earthly life with its storms and arrive on the other shore in the safe harbour of God. Glory to the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Be encouraged and allow God to be in control of your life.

In His service,
Minister Dr. Trudy Veerman

Dying to Self...

Walking in His footsteps

And Jesus answered them, saying: "The hour is come, that the Son of man should be glorified. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.
He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal. If any man serve Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there shall also My servant be: if any man serve Me, him will My Father honour."
John 12:23-26

Expounding on the words of Jesus:

I have to die to self, so Christ can live in me and do His works through me. Christ gave up His natural body and all that this world has to offer. He brought forth much fruit. He gave Himself unto death, bringing deliverance to this fallen creation. And many will gain LIFE through faith in His finished work.

He who lives for himself and seeks to get out of this life as much as possible, does not show to be a follower of Christ, and he will lose his eternal life by it. But he who desires to reach out and considers others more than himself; who is concerned about the welfare of those who suffer, are hungry, sick, downtrodden, rejected, lost, forsaken, homeless, will have eternal life.

If we want to serve Christ, we must also follow in His footsteps and have His compassion to save a world lost in sin, to bring deliverance from bondage, to present the Good News of salvation, leading mankind to the Father through the Saviour.

As we do the Father's work, as Jesus did, we will be where He is. If we follow Christ we will bring honor and glory to the Father.

I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
Galatians 2:20

Let us pray: "Teach me, O LORD, the way of Thy statutes; and I shall keep it unto the end. Give me understanding, and I shall keep Thy law; yea, I shall observe it with my whole heart. Make me to go in the path of Thy commandments; for therein do I delight. Incline my heart unto Thy testimonies, and not to covetousness. Turn away mine eyes from beholding vanity; and quicken Thou me in Thy way.
AMEN! (Psalm 119:33-37)

Who Cares?

Who CARES is the "nowadays" attitude! To many it may not matter much if someone dies, as long as they can carry on with what is important to them.

To God it matters much if a soul dies without knowing Jesus as their Savior and Lord.

People may look down on a beggar, an addict, a criminal, an outcast, a mentally disadvantaged person, a leper or an ugly looking fellow. They may not care if the such live or die.

Thank God, He cares. To Him it does not matter how one is on the outside, it matters to Him what the "inside" looks like. And if the inside is bad, sick or afflicted, He desires that such a person would accept His offer, through the Sacrifice of His Son.

JOHN 3:16,17 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

To us as followers of Christ it should certainly matter if a person dies and more so if he/she dies without the knowledge of being saved by the Blood of Jesus and has received forgiveness of sin.

My heart cries by the thought of it. How can one reject any person, if God Himself is waiting to receive the sinner, who calls for help, with open arms? WE CAN'T AND WE SHOULD NOT!

May we have the same compassion, as the One who showed compassion on us, and showed us the Truth of His word and of His redeeming work, I pray.

Be blessed in Christ.
