For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
Ephesians 2:8-10
Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law. Romans 3:28
God always seeks man. Christianity is not a religion of discovery, but of revelation. Grace is sovereign because if flows in one direction only--- from His throne to earth--- from His heart to the human soul.
Apart from the presence of lost sinners, grace would have no meaning, because there would be no objects to receive it.
Grace is the bestowal of God's favor to undeserving people.
Even when we were dead in sins, [God] hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved); and hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. Ephesians 2:5-6
The concept of salvation by grace is boldly opposed to any attempt of man to be saved by works.Romans Chapter 4 says the same thing of Abraham--that he was justified, not by works, but by faith.
For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God. For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness. Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. Romans 4:2-5
Grace is the very opposite of good works. Nevertheless, good works we will and must do. Followers of Christ want to walk in obedience unto His word! God's will is revealed in His word.
That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate; 1 Timothy 6:18
Faith without works is dead. James 2:20b
But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased. Hebrews 13:16
God Almighty, Provider of Salvation will bless the reading of His word. AMEN!
