Be Prepared!

Peace be unto you in the wonderful name of Jesus.

For those of us who rely on God, abide in Him, walk in His footsteps, and as long as we have our eyes focused on God, through Christ, He will keep His hand upon our lives.

We really don't know what tomorrow will bring although we may see the signs of what is around the corner.

It is wonderful to be able to rest in the Lord, and not to worry about tomorrow. Just taking one day at a time. We have the assurance that He will never leave us nor forsake us. What more do we want and need?

The care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful. Matthew 13:22b

Confidence in an unfaithful man in time of trouble is like a broken tooth, and a foot out of joint. Proverbs 25:19

He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool: but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered. Proverbs 28:26

  • Don't expect things to get better in this world.

  • Don't believe promises made concerning present economical/political/world situations.

  • Don't put your hope in government leaders.

  • Don't sit back and wait what happens next.

  • Don't slack off and become passive.

  • Don't trust your own understanding.

Blessed is that man that maketh the LORD his trust... Psalm 40:4

But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. 1 Peter 1:24b

Howbeit when He, the Spirit of truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth: for He shall not speak of Himself; but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He speak: and He will shew you things to come. John 16:13

  • Know that things will only be secure in Christ.

  • Know that this world will be coming to an halt.

  • Know that leaders/kings and princes will fail.

  • Know that what Jesus says will come to pass.

  • Know how to stay alert and focused on Christ.

  • Know and hold fast to the leading of the Holy Spirit, who gives knowledge and insight.

Stay prepared after body, soul and spirit so that coming events will not take you by surprise.

That ye would walk worthy of God, who hath called you unto his kingdom and glory. 1 Thessalonians 2:12

Be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord. 1 Corinthians 15:58

Let the name of the Lord be praised.

JESUS CASHES CHECKS

Brother Bruce serves the homeless people, those who have no pillow to rest their heads upon. He preaches and prays with them in need, brings them food and clothing as the Lord provides. Brother Bruce is quite sensitive to these needs since he was one of them at some point in his life.

Below is a story he wrote me. God proves Himself GREAT in the most simple things.

According to your faith be it unto you. Matthew 9:29

One day a man at a homeless shelter did some day labor and was paid with a check. He was unable to cash it for lack of picture ID. He asked me to help him so we loaded up and started to the bank.
On the way I remembered a store that cashed checks so we went there first. As we got to the store he stated that he had tried to use the same store and they said, no picture no cash. I let him know that the owner was a friend and we went in. *Note: this store was muslum owned and operated.*

The clerk said: "No picture no cash." I asked him to call the owner, he did and after a word with him he handed me the phone. I said: "this is "brbruce". He replied: "Who "brbruce" who "brbruce." I said: "The man who talks to you about JESUS". He again: "Jesus... Jesus... OH Jesus... Jesus OK." I handed the phone back to the clerk, after a few words he said out loud "JESUS OK". He hung up the phone and cashed the check.
The store was full of people and there came a hush over them.

We thanked the clerk and left the store. The homeless man smiled and said: "I NEVER KNEW THAT JESUS CASHES CHECKS!"

Expect from God and He will do it.

Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. Mark 11:24

John 3:16

A little boy was selling newspapers on the corner, the people were in and out of the cold.

The little boy was so cold that he wasn't trying to sell many papers.

He walked up to a policeman and said, "Mister, you wouldn't happen to know where a poor boy could find a warm place to sleep tonight would you?

You see, I sleep in a box up around the corner there and down the alley and it's awful cold in there for tonight. Sure would be nice to have a warm place to stay."

The policeman looked down at the little boy and said, "You go down the street to that big white house and you knock on the door. When they come out the door you just say John 3:16, and they will let you in."

So he did. He walked up the steps and knocked on the door, and a lady answered. He looked up and said, "John 3:16." The lady said, "Come on in, Son."

She took him in and she sat him down in a split bottom rocker in front of a great big old fireplace, and she went off. The boy sat there for a while and thought to himself: John 3:16... I don't understand it, but it sure makes a cold boy warm.

Later she came back and asked him "Are you hungry ? "He said, "Well, just a little.. I haven't eaten in a couple of days, and I guess I could stand a little bit of food,"

The lady took him in the kitchen and sat him down to a table full of wonderful food. He ate and ate until he couldn't eat any more.. Then he thought to himself: John 3:16
Boy, I sure don't understand it but it sure makes a hungry boy full.

She took him upstairs to a bathroom to a huge bathtub filled with warm water, and he sat there and soaked for a while. As he soaked, he thought to himself: John 3:16

I sure don't understand it, but it sure makes a dirty boy clean. You know, I've not had a bath, a real bath, in my whole life. The only bath I ever had was when I stood in front of that big old fire hydrant as they flushed it out.

The lady came in and got him She took him to a room, tucked him into a big old feather bed, pulled the covers up around his neck, kissed him goodnight and turned out the lights. As he lay in the darkness and looked out the window at the snow coming down on that cold night, he thought to himself: John 3:16...
I don't understand it but it sure makes a tired boy rested.

The next morning the lady came back up and took him down again to that same big table full of food. After he ate, she took him back to that same big old split bottom rocker in front of the fireplace and picked up a big old Bible.

She sat down in front of him and looked into his young face. "Do you understand John 3:16?" she asked gently. He replied, "No, Ma'am, I don't. The first time I ever heard it was last night when the policeman told me to use it."

She opened the Bible to John 3:16 and began to explain to him about Jesus. Right there, in front of that big old fireplace, he gave his heart and life to Jesus. He sat there and thought: John 3:16 -- don't understand it, but it sure makes a lost boy feel safe.

You know, I have to confess I don't understand it either, how God was willing to send His Son to die for me, and how Jesus would agree to do such a thing. I don't understand the agony of the Father and every angel in heaven as they watched Jesus suffer and die. I don't understand the intens love for ME that kept Jesus on the cross till the end. I don't understand it, but it sure does make life worth living.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son,that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

THANK YOU LORD for providing eternal life for anyone who comes to You with a contrite spirit and a soul which wants to be saved.

In the Love of Christ,
Minister Dr. Trudy Veerman.

The Road Map

*

Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth. John 12:35

He that followeth Me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. John 8:12b

Most of us when we're going on a trip to a place we've never been before may do some research, check some related travel information or read a book concerning the place and surroundings. But for sure, everybody will study the road map, preferrably a detailed travel quidance. You want to make sure you're getting at the place of destination without losing time by getting lost. This all sounds like common sense.

Having a good road map but leaving it closed laying somewhere, does not help you much. You may know the direction to be East or West, but still you will not get there if that is all you know! You'll go criss-cross and you don't find the city or street. After awhile you're getting confused and still not at the right place. Next thing... you're giving up.

I'm just talking here about a traveling scenario on this planet. Not a big deal if you do get lost, because a rescue team can be sent after you, if needed.

How careless are so many people when it comes to traveling on the road towards eternity. They don't seem to care wherever they land. They get off course, in the ditch, bang up their vehicle, get hurt... and they still keep on going in circles, repeating the same old "trip" over and over again.

Even people who are traveling the road to heaven get sidetracked, disoriented and are losing their grip on the things they once called sacred. They may not be so serious in seeking the guidance of God's word, and do whatever they think is okay.

Without God's word man will get lost, because we can see only so far and know only so much. This life is too complicated, where the influence of sinful surroundings and sin itself take us off guard and lead us astray if we lean on our own understanding, or that of others. People will get confused and dishearted. Next thing is that they're on the wrong "road".

Following Jesus and get to the place where He wants you to be, takes guidance and the "road map", otherwise you'll get lost and never reach your destination.
Just thinking that you know where you're going is NOT good enough. You need to go by the Word of God in order to get safely at the other shore. This means that you have to read, meditate and study the Bible and pray for understanding of the Word.
Your faith needs to be build up, and the joy of the Lord needs to be within you.

Once you become in agreement with what God wants for you, you will feel more secure and at peace because God will walk with you.
Don't follow Jesus just a little ways, but ALL THE WAY. Going ALL the way, makes life much easier because you'll establish a "bond" with God, through Christ. And you will know you are traveling on the RIGHT road.

Leaning on the Lord is like a child holding father's hand... you can't go wrong! The Lord knows of all things, and He hears your cries, as He does mine.

Therefore, let your eyes be focused on Him alone, since He will not abandon His child. Be not anxious for the day of tomorrow, because tomorrow may never come. Live day by day with God, as your Father and Christ as your Savior and Lord.

Allow the Holy spirit to flow in and through your life, for His glory ONLY. This is what God expects from you and me, to live for Him alone, not for anything else. No matter how important some issues may appear... walk in His ways and be an instrument in His hands and a pleasure in His sight.

"Travel Light With God as Your Guide"

Go in peace of the Father and He will accomplish all things in you, leading you all the way.
AMEN AND AMEN!!

I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth. 3 John 1:4

Watch Your Steps!

*

Walk in Balance, according to the Word of God.

This is something for all of us to seriously think about!

Several years ago, a preacher from out-of-state accepted a call to a church in Houston ,Texas. Some weeks after he arrived, he had an occasion to ride the bus from his home to the downtown area.

When he sat down, he discovered that the driver had accidentally given him a quarter too much change As he considered what to do, he thought to himself, 'You'd better give the quarter back. It would be wrong to keep it.' Then he thought, 'Oh, forget it, it's only a quarter. Who would worry about this little amount? Anyway, the bus company gets too much fare; they will never miss it. Accept it as a 'gift from God' and keep quiet.'

When his stop came, he paused momentarily at the door, and then he handed the quarter to the driver and said, 'Here, you gave me too much change.'

The driver, with a smile, replied, 'Aren't you the new preacher in town?'

'Yes' he replied.

'Well, I have been thinking a lot lately about going somewhere to worship. I just wanted to see what you would do if I gave you too much change. I'll see you at church on Sunday.'

When the preacher stepped off of the bus, he literally grabbed the nearest light pole, held on, and said, "Oh God, I almost sold your Son for a quarter."

Our lives are the only Bible some people will ever read. This is a really scary example of how much people watch us as Christians, and will put us to the test! Always be on guard -- and remember -- You carry the name of Christ on your shoulders when you call yourself 'Christian.'

  • Watch your thoughts; they become words.

  • Watch your words; they become actions.

  • Watch your actions; they become habits.

  • Watch your habits; they become character.

  • Watch your character; it becomes your destiny.

Pass this on to others, if you do, you will have ministered to someone.
This came to me by email.

In the Light of His Word,
    Minister Dr. Trudy Veerman
