God Works Wonders!

*

Dear friends,

May the following message encourage you in your faith in the Father.

Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in My name, He will give it you. John 16:23

During World War II, the persecution had been intense.

Alone in the jungle, a brother could hear the soldiers coming in his direction.

Scrambling for cover, he found his way up a high ridge to several small caves in the rock. Quickly he crawled inside one of the caves. Although safe for the moment, he realized that once the soldiers looking for him swept up the ridge, they would quickly search all the caves and he would be killed.

As he waited, he prayed, asking The Lord, please protect me.
Whatever Your will though, I love You and trust You.

After praying, he lay quietly listening to the enemy begin to draw close.

He saw a spider begin to build a web over the front of his cave.

As he watched, listening to the enemy searching for him all the while, the spider layered strand after strand of web across the opening of the cave.

'Ahah,' he thought. 'What I need is a brick wall and what God has sent me is a spider web.'

As the enemy drew closer he watched from the darkness of his hideout and could see them searching one cave after another. As they came to his, he prepared himself for death.

To his amazement, however, after glancing in the direction of his cave, they moved on. Suddenly, he realized that with the spider web over the entrance, his cave looked as if no one had entered for quite a while.

'O Lord, forgive me,' prayed the young man.'I had forgotten that with You a spider's web is stronger than a brick wall.'

We all face times of great trouble. When we do, it is so easy to forget that God can work in our lives, sometimes in the most surprising ways.

And remember with the Lord, a mere spider's web can become a brick wall of protection.

Dear Pat,

Thank you for your comments. I am happy that you were blessed and encouraged.

Concerning the diagnosis of your son-in-law, the word "cancer" hits people far more than the word "headache", for example.

People, including Christians may be greatly influenced by what doctors can do about their ailments. But with God it does not make any difference what is attacking our body. "Nothing is impossible with God to them that believe."

He has provided already for our healing, as we can read in Isaiah 53:5 "But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed."

Salvation has come our way in the same manner Isaiah 53:6 "All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all."

Really we don't need to ask, but rather accept and profess that which has been provided for us before we even asked.

Psalm 103:2,3 "Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: Who forgives all your iniquities; Who heals all your diseases."
