Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1
Faith is an unmistakable unshakable assurance, a Mighty Force.
It is a tremendous drive in the life of the follower of Christ. With faith in our heart we can move mountains, as Jesus says. It is the power which keeps us standing in times of need and despair. The hope we have for the answer to follow.
Without faith Jesus couldn't perform any miracle, according to God's word. This shows how important it is for us to have faith if we need something from God.
Faith comes by hearing of the Word. So, start digging in and meditating upon God's word to enlarge your faith.
Our whole life can be surrounded by faith, if we surely know God. And to know Him is through His word and confirmation by the Holy Ghost.
It starts at Salvation in Christ... By grace are ye saved through FAITH. Ephesians 2:8
Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; Titus 3:5
Nothing we can add to earn our salvation.
It is Not as some religious people may tell you to do this or that, such as being baptized, partake of the Holy Communion and confess your sins to a "priest", in order to be saved. Confessing your sins to Christ Jesus and accepting Him as your Savior and Lord is the beginning of your Christian life. Obeying God's word is the next step, and will follow as you allow the Holy Spirit to guide and direct you in your daily walk with God.
Faith has to become part of us, after we have learned to trust God and His word.
Faith is a Gift of God, and is given to them that have surrendered their lives in obedience unto the Father, with a desire to follow Him wherever He goes, and trusting that He will do whatever He has promised.
Faith takes God's promises for certain. AMEN!!
... for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. Matthew 17:20
Having "Faith" makes me think of a father who tells his son that he will buy him a bicycle next week. The boy tells his friends that he will have a bike next week, because he has learned from past experiences that his father always did what he promised. With this certainty the son had no doubt whasoever, knowing that for sure he would have this bike the following week. No if's or but's or hope so... rather the son was all excited to tell his friends, although he had not seen any evidence.
We certainly can transfer such faith to the promises of our heavenly Father, especially since we know from the scriptures that God actually has proven Himself to be true to His word.
Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for He is faithful that promised;) Hebrews 10:23.
Some more scriptures on faith.
James 1:3 "Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience."
Galatians 3:26 "For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus."
2Corinthians 5:7 "For we walk by faith, not by sight..."
James 1:6 "But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed."
Praise His name for ever.
