Flowers for Mother

Dear Friend in Christ,

May the peace of God be with you and His Spirit guides you in all truth, I pray.

As I reflect on the duties and responsibilities of a mother I can see a lot of sacrifices made for the sake of her children. Her love for her children, which she carried in her own body until the moment she gives birth, is deep and true.
God created this great caring and love in the heart of a mother towards her children. It is up to each mother to develop this further and to thrive for the best in raising her offspring, as God intended it to be.

The joy of delivering her own child outweighs the pangs of labor. Raising her children in the ways of the Lord is a continuous caring, guiding, giving and nurturing. It is truly a full time job to look after her own, feeding nutritious meals and keeping them clothed and clean.

My parents raised seven of us and I have noticed all that mother sacrificed day after day, with not much time for herself. Father worked hard to bring in the money to buy all what was needed, but it was mainly mother with whom we had close contact.

My husband and I raised 4 children. They are adults now and realize themselves what it took to bring them up in ways of Christian principles and morals.

For all the care parents give to their children God's word states to honor your father and mother so your days may be prolonged.

Proverbs 23:22b Despise not thy mother when she is old.

Leviticus 19:3 Ye shall fear every man his mother, and his father.

Proverbs 31:28 Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.

Some years ago I wrote a poem in memory of my dear mother. You may have read it, but it wouldn't hurt to read it again.

Dear Mother of Mine

Blessed be the mothers who care for their own (and perhaps for other children), mothers who adopted children and the mothers who made themselves available to those who needed a Mom or Ma, although they have passed childhood age.

Be blessed in the name of the Lord.

In His service,
Minister Dr. Trudy Veerman.
